5 Artists You Need To Know For 2015

2014 was one of my favorite years for dance music.  The palate of the listeners is starting to improve, and the real artists are starting to show their true colors over the wave of phonies that god big through hype.  Now I am no EDM Nostradamus, but I do have a good ear for music.  In this bias article I go over 5 artists you need to know going into 2015, share some of their tunes, and tell you why you should love them.

Now let’s get into it….

5.) Quix

Quix is a 20 year old New Zealand Native.  He tinkers with experimental trap sounds, and some are already starting to compare him to Mr. Carmack.  He has two very large releases lined up for February with fellow 6 AM artists Instant Party and Party Thieves.  It is a safe bet that Quix is soon to blow up.

 4.) Durante

Durante is a master of both house and bass sounds.  His singles Slow Burn and Full Moon are both ridiculous pieces of work. The LA-based producer is set to have a huge 2015 and has done nothing but prove that so far. With support from the likes of Skrillex, Durante is set to have a gigantic year.

3.) Lumberjvck

Lumberjvck had a solid 2014 campaign.  This Icon Collective grad is one of the heaviest producers in the game right now.  Hangout on Lumberjvck’s Soundcloud for more than an hour and you have the sudden urge to take a shower because you are covered in filth.  His Dukkha EP  with Kai Wachi quickly put him on a lot of big artists radars.  He just did an official remix for Figure that is insane, as well as a forthcoming collab with 12th Planet.  This Pantheon artist is a sure shot for success.

2.) Drezo

Progressive minded monster Drezo isn’t well known, but is slowly making his imprint in the electronic music scene. Drezo’s productions focus around all types of house music with influences of progressive, tech, electro, and hip-hop. He has gained support from the likes of Dillon Francis on his Bassline remix.  Be on the lookout for some huge releases in 2015 from this guy.

1.) Prince Fox

Prince Fox is the one that I don’t understand why people are still sleeping on.  His motto is  ‘Dance music that you can share with your great aunt’.  He brings something new to trap that is just so refreshing. Quality production, solid ideas, chill vibes.  He recently released a cover / remix taking on Kanye West’s classic “All Of The Lights” with Hotel Garuda that is next level, as well as a huge remix of Lemaitre‘s ‘All I Need’.  2015 is set to be a solid year for Prince Fox, it’s artist like this that keep the trap genre progressive.
