“We hear refreshing melodies and energetic drops for a combination you won’t be able to stop moving to.” – This Song Is Sick
After starting 2015 off with two releases that skyrocketed up Beatport’s charts, Canadian producer Shaun Frank returns to Dim Mak with his melodic future house record “Mind Made Up” that’s already garnered support from DJs as diverse as Oliver Heldens, Nicky Romero and 3LAU.
Pairing swooning vocals and a vigorous, pumping bassline with mesmerizing piano builds and dizzying arpeggiated synths, Shaun Frank creates a dynamic, deep-leaning groove that’s sure to soundtrack sun-drenched pool parties and late-night dance floors alike. “Mind Made Up” has amassed an impressive 185K (combined) SoundCloud plays in just twelve days and was premiered this week by This Song Is Sick.
Since joining the Dim Mak family last summer, Shaun Frank has been blowing up the blog circuit with his remixes and more recently teamed up with Borgeous for his Spinnin’ Records’ hit “This Could Be Love” which peaked at #6 on Beatport’s House Chart. On the remix front, after his free bootleg remix of Kiesza’s “Take Me To Church” racked up more than 300K SoundCloud plays and gained support from Oliver Heldens in both his “Heldeep” radio show and DJ sets, Frank was commissioned by Steve Aoki last month to twist the Dim Mak boss’ collaboration with Flux Pavillion “Get Me Outta Here” into a future house rework. Frank’s remix has become the standout from the “Get Me Outta Here” remix package, gaining over 350K SoundCloud plays in just 25 days.
Having recently signed with CAA, Shaun Frank is poised for a breakout year with forthcoming performances at Firefly Music Festival, Bestival’s North American debut in Toronto and various Miami Music Week events.
