The music video was shot and directed by Patrick Tracy (Krewella, Dan + Shay, Little Big Town) using an ambitious and imaginative set-up involving 24 cameras affixed to a semi-circle metal apparatus, designed to capture MAKO and Madison from a series of angles. “Filming this video was such a fun and unique experience,” Madison tells Buzzfeed. “Patrick had an amazing idea and executed it perfectly. I am so lucky to have been involved.” MAKO added, “Putting on a video is like a field trip for us to get out of the studio. The idea sounded really innovative, any chance we get to pair our music with something fun and creative we’ll try. Our director, Patrick, and camera crew were amazing. I think Madison even brought out Sour Patch Kids and it was game over, a video was born.”
This past October, MAKO—Logan Light and Alex Seaver–released their instrumental track “Sunburst” on the YouTube channel Proximity and it instantly became a hit with fellow DJs, fans and media. The video has received over 845,000 views (here) as well as nearly half a million plays on SoundCloud (here). YourEDM.com raved, “This is the happiest song I have ever heard. Mako really outdid themselves with this progressive house champion. ‘Sunburst’ is one of those songs that you just can’t help but to get up and dance to.” (10/22/14)
“After a pretty overwhelming request from our fans to pair a vocal version to the original, we started sketching ideas and hunting for the right singer immediately,” MAKO explains about the early stages of “I Won’t Let You Walk Away.” “When Madison entered the conversation, it felt like the perfect fit. We’re really pleased with the final result…this is going to be a fun one for us.”
