Coming off an exuberant EDC Las Vegas debut, LUMBERJVCK continues to wow bassheads all over the world. Witnessing the set in person was nothing short of amazing, but when you play EDC for your first time alongside 12th Planet and Protohype. Legendary is the word the fits the most, we had to catch up with the producer and hear his thoughts on what it was all like.
You not only just played EDC Las Vegas for the first time but you did it in style going back to back with 12th Planet and Protohype. What was that whole day like for you?
The entire weekend was crazy. I flew private with Protohype to Vegas on Thursday and met up with 12th and joined him on stage at the Bassrush pool party. At the pool I met a solid amount of artists that were also playing EDC and that was dope. The next day was the day we played. It was all very surreal… it didn’t really hit me that I was playing EDC until I walked up the stairs to the DJ booth with two of my inspirations. Words can’t describe the feeling I had playing my first song with my friends in front of the biggest crowd of my life. It was the best weekend of my life.
Where does this accomplishment stand in your bucket list or goals?
This was literally my biggest goal I had set for myself in my entire life so it was a really big deal for me. It still is a really big deal. I honestly can’t believe it happened. Now I have to set a new goal. I’m thinking my new goal will be playing Coachella for the first time.
Do you have any awesome memories or stories of EDC Week or the festival itself?
When all three of us were on stage 12th shouted out my parents in the crowd and that was really cool. They have supported me from the beginning and have paid for me to go to 4 EDC’s prior to this one. I thought it was really dope that 12th acknowledged their presence for the whole crowd because they really mean a lot to me.
What can the fans expect from you heading forward through 2016? Any major news?
I have a lot of awesome surprises along the way that I can’t mention at this time, but I have been very busy in the studio and a lot of new LUMBERJVCK tunes are on the way! Some of my best yet too!
Take this all in, to be you must be pretty amazing career wise. Can you sum up what the music ride has been to take you to this point?
Honestly I am so happy right now, everything is going so great, but it wasn’t always this way. It has been a constant 6 year struggle to get here and I have worked my butt off everyday. I dropped out of school to do this too so I have always felt like I needed to be successful which has been very stressful, but now I can breathe a sigh of relief. I played EDC baby and I’m not stopping here!
