Down To The Nitti Gritti and Waxin’

It’s not often you come across a previously unheard of producer that absolutely exceeds expectations. Luckily for you, I was sent a tune from this upcoming bass prodigy named Nitti Gritti coming out of Miami, Florida.

Nitti Gritti is everything you want out of a musician and then some. He has an unbelievably clear sound, an incredible variety of styles, and puts out a steady stream of tracks to tickle your fancy. He’s put out a slew of hard hitting tracks over the last 5 months, including massive support from some of the biggest names in the music game. Nitti had his remix of “Marching On” featured on Krewella’s offical remix album as well as getting tunes like his banger “Dirty Dancing” featured on Dillon Francis’ Spotify. Jauz, Tchami and others have rinsed his tracks out during the summer festival circuit and he even made a special guest appearance at Nocturnal Wonderland during Bonnie x Clyde’s set. Though Nitti Gritti has yet to play his own show yet, his debut performance will take place at Miami’s biggest Halloween party, Wynwood Fear Factory. Being on the ticket with Armin Van Buuren, Flosstradamus, Oliver Heldens and many other super star artists will surely make the night a big one for the up and coming bass star.

On to the freshest piece of work from Nitti Gritti just released on TrapStyle Records, “Waxin'” is that new hotness. Nitti starts the tune with a blast of chill, keeping it mellow with some cool vocals and sub-filled 808s. The energy of the track shifts from vibey to that of walking into oncoming traffic as the drums signal the drop. We’re met with a vocal yelling “Wax on, wax off cuz this music don’t stop ” giving the track it’s title and then we are confronted with an immense wall of sound.

The drop has been fully realized, throwing screams of of heavy filth at our face. The bass rings true through the song, vibrating the walls around you. Nitti’s sound design is massive, filling the frequency range and keeping the energy pumping. The percussion is tight and the vocals are chanting while the break brings us a nice hip hop beat. Nitti Gritti builds the song back up and gives one of the nastiest change ups I’ve heard in a while. With an almost moombahton like feel, the half time beat gets your hips moving and head banging as the destructive synths surround you. The trap beat comes back and then the hypnotic vocals take us to the exit. The thrill ride is over ladies and gentleman.
