The Safe In Sound tour made its appearance to San Jose, California where thousands of energy filled teenagers were ready to lose their minds. Giving us a lineup of Yntendo, LAXX, Terravita, San Holo, Ookay, and Borgore; the dancefloor was ready to be packed. What was shaping up to be 6 hours of gnarly bass music, to no surprise, exceeded all of my expectations. The transitions were clean, the tempo was high, and the unexpected stage presence these DJs were able to have really opened my eyes seeing how much potential they held.
Yntendo making its debut performance, couldn’t have gone better than expected. I was really satisfied with how well they meshed the sounds of G-House with Dubstep at some points. San Holo as well made it apparent that Future Bass is a genre to be reckoned with. The crowd got loud and mellow when the 25 year old stepped onto that stage. Ookay showed us a flash of old and new music as he slowly presented the new direction his music has been going. This was the first time I’ve noticed how big of a name Borgore has become. Once his name popped up on that LED the crowd was ecstatic. I had a moment of clarity from that point on, seeing as how the guy who made ‘Nympho’ 6 years ago turned out to be a festival headliner. I want to give a huge thanks to Safe In Sound and GOT PR Agency for allowing me to experience this night.
