DJ Ride is a legend in the underground bass and hip hop scene so we snagged one of his newest tracks out for free on TrapStyle Prime.
“Illest” is the veteran artist’s freshest bass heavy tune that takes you on a deep journey through sound. The track has an intriguing start with shifty vocal chops, frog-like synth echoes and an almost carmack-esque beat. Chunky 808 kick drums enunciate their arrival through the song while sharp and precise percussion hits lay in the background. Tweaked out vocals fill in the gaps between widely panned wubs and a stabbing synth. It is killer to see an artist who’s been at it as long as DJ Ride keeping it fresh with tracks like “Illest”.
