What more can you ask for than the collaborative efforts of 4 talented and unique individuals? Yung Nitti Gritti and Part Native have partnered with the man in the robe, Harvey J aka Chef Henny, for a new Hybrid Trap/Dubstep banger entitled “Snappin’ and Trappin'”.
The track comes paired with a music video that shows the true essence of character for these 4 musicians but this also comes across in the tune. The track itself goes from w a v e y to filthy with bits of leanin’ back as we get all sorts of different vibes. “Snappin’ and Trappin” takes off with a simple piano melody and snappy percussion with a touch of atmosphere. A mellow beat comes in with Harvey setting the tone using a laidback flow. A quick build starts up as Chef Henny brings us to the first drop where stabs of distorted 808 bass hits and leads that sound like Herobust on a bad meth trip clash epicly. The lyrics come in and out of the track leading into a minimal trap beat with vocal chops laying the melody down. After a chill breakdown with Harvey J telling it how it is, the track picks up energy to put down a wonky dubstep beat that tickles your ears.
“Snappin’ and Trappin” has me beside myself with 3 different “drops” as the sound design throws it’s nastiness in your face but the video below really lends itself to speak volumes about these 4 young men. With both track and video on point, it’s hard to not enjoy this project.
