Ahhhh, Dirtybird Campout. Always gracing us with the best in cowbells and techy hi-hats that have become a staple in the Dirtybird sound. This year, an excursion into the lands of Bradley, CA.
Counselor Claude really had everyone hyped this year. Through a series of social media announcements, it was known that this years Campout was gonna be bigger and better than before; and that it was. The Birdhouse hosted all of the Dirtybird OG’s and some of the best sets of the weekend (what a surprise) meanwhile this years, and first time all day stage, Bass Lodge, hosted other like Desert Hearts, Mija B2B Netsky, and Bleep Bloop to name a few.
The walk from the campsite to the festival was longer than the previous years, but it made for a good time to hang out with friends and get some giggles going before stepping into the House madness that embodied you as soon as you set foot into the festival grounds.
Archery, Tug-o-war, Dodgeball, Kickball, you name it, Dirtybird Campout had it. It’s literally a summer camp for adults. I personally enjoyed watching the 30 person tug-o-war game get everyones adrenaline pumping. There’s just nothing like grown men and women bring out their inner childs for summer time activities. One thing Campout does is that upon arrival, you can register with one of four (Green, Red, Yellow, or Purple) teams, and that is your squad for the rest of the weekend. One catch, you cannot choose what color you wanna be and are assigned one at random opening up the doors to create some new friendships along the way. S/O Dirtybird.
I wanna go into every single detail about how amazing the Drum n Bass was all around and how the Martin Brothers threw down the dopest liquid Dnb set ever. And how “…Like A ROLLERCOASTER” was the peak of Eats Everything’s set shortly before Shiba San hit the decks and took everyone for a magical House journey. Honestly though, nothing can put that into words, but if you wanna experience that in a nutshell, look at how happy Justin Martin is with a tequila bottle in his hand right above. That, is pure magic.
Really, you just have to get your ass out there and experience it for yourself. It’s a once in a lifetime experience that you will regret never going to, if you don’t of course. Moving forward, I will let the pictures do the talking for me. See you at Campout next year, Dirtybirds!
Oh, and ICYMI, Walker & Royce just dropped the music video for “Rub Anotha Dub” with Green Velvet. It’s everything you would expect from the dopest dance party, plus some. Check it out –> Rub Anotha Dub
