Drum and Bass duo, Matrix & Futurebound, return with the passionate and explosive “Got You There” feature songstress, Zelah. Their brand of Drum and Bass has crossed the elusive divide to mainstream commercial success and has galvanized the worldwide Drum and Bass scene for years. After a fruitful 2018 with ‘Tardis’, ‘Mystery Machine,’ and ‘Live Another Day,’ the release of “Got You There” previews their forthcoming album soon to drop in the next year. “Got You There” is a musical elixir that makes the listener feel like their skydiving into an otherworldly portal of ethereal sounds and heart-pounding drums that tap into their adrenaline. The breathy, ambient texture of Zelah’s vocals humanize the out-of-body experience the song creates for the listener. Had this track dropped before my one-week trip to Washington D.C., I would have queued it up during takeoff to feel the gravity of flight. Zelah’s vocals liken that of BANKS and Lorde, inserting her dark pop twist to the mix.
