BASECAMP – In Stone (VALENTINE Remix)

A little over a week ago, a huge new remix courtesy of VALENTINE was premiered via EarMilk. Valentine has been on a consistent stride with his latest releases including ‘Her‘ and his Kid Froopy remix. This time around, he incorporated heavier sounds into his melodic productions to create a fresh new take on ‘In Stone’ by BASECAMP. This infusion of two different elements is what helps make Valentine’s music stand out from the clutter. The song starts out with a beautifully euphoric introduction that soon gives way to a huge porter-esque drop riddled with unique synths and complex drum fills. more »

This morning the internet was blessed with an unprecedented collaboration from two diverse artists. Although Nightowls are known mostly for their face melting wubs, this collaboration with rising all-star Fransis Derelle reveals the unexpected beauty that can result when two artists come together. Fransis Derelle has a diverse discography hitting on everything from Future Bass to 128 bpm bangers, so when they (Nightowls x Fransis) announced they were going to release a collab, no one knew what to expect. FreeFall- Fear (FREE DOWNLOAD)

It seems as though every time FreeFall releases a new track, it only solidifies his unique brand of house music even further. This time, FreeFall is coming at us with a brand new original titled ‘Fear’. The title perfectly matches the vibe on this particular track, with eerie pads painting a dark picture in the background and bells that make you feel like you’re in one of RL Stein’s twisted stories. As the song progresses, the listener is spooked by distant wolf howls and a groovy drop. Freefall‘s unique, swervy basslines are still present in this track, but this time he more »

Borgeous Releases Single “Going Under” from Debut Album ’13’

On Friday (October 28), DJ/producer BORGEOUS officially released his newest single “Going Under” with Loud Luxury from his debut album 13 (out now on Geousus/Armada Music). As fall sets in, “Going Under” and its video–a first-person point-of-view in the luxuries of an exotic vacation, immersing the viewer in tropical indulgences in Bali like dancing on a boat and diving underwater to swim with sea turtles to Balearic-style seaside parties in Croatia–brings us back to summer days. “The music video kicks off with clips of a man touring around a tropical island and soaking in the scene. Crystal blue water accompanied by amazing views put this music video in its own league. Scuba diving, more »

Kompany & Blvk Sheep – Hold Up

Earlier this week, Kompany and Blvk Sheep unleashed a huge hybrid record that has racked up nearly 40 thousand plays within its’ first week. ‘Hold Up’ features face melting, glitchy synths that when accompanied by the drum work deliver a groove you can’t help but move to. The first drop has both a bass house style rhythm/structure to it, but then switches to a trap arrangement to keep the listener interested. Both artists are clearly present in this collaborative effort, and they were able to create a cohesive original that is bound to destroy any dance floor. Both Kompany and more »

Valentine Unleashes New Remix (FREE DOWNLOAD)

Valentine has been on quite the hot streak lately. Coming off of his most recent single release ‘Her’, which is available on platforms like iTunes, Apple Music, and Spotify; the Kansas City based producer is back at it again with an amazing remix to ‘bb’ by Kid Froopy. This particular remix stood out to me because I think it accurately showcases the evolution of Valentine’s music thus far. The track begins with a beautiful combination of the original vocals and a bright pluck that helps introduce the melody. As the song progresses, the listener is almost taken by surprise by the more »

Blvk Sheep Breathes New Life Into ‘Reality’

Earlier this morning, New York based producer Blvk Sheep released his colossal remix for one of Bro Safari’s most recent records ‘Reality’. Although both versions of the song carry a heavy melodic presence throughout, Blvk Sheep’s remix explores a bright and beautiful super saw pattern accompanied by a face melting guitar solo. The art of remixing is quite tricky, and involves being able to uphold the original tracks integrity while bringing forth a new interpretation of the song. Blvk Sheep has undoubtedly showcased his remixing abilities in this sense, and we’re ecstatic to see how his music will continue to grow and evolve. more »

Artist Spotlight: Felmax

Over the years dance music fans have come to the realization that “trap” music, or the electronic manifestation of trap, has developed an unparalleled energy quite unlike any other genre. Devastating 808’s accompanied by huge synths has become the staple for bass music fans in America. With so many people attempting to create trap anthems of their own, it’s become rather difficult to stand out amongst the noise. Most producers fade into the background when they fail to develop a voice of their own, but that isn’t the case for Florida native Felmax. Over the past year, Felmax has grown his more »

Skepta – That’s Not Me (FreeFall Remix)

Album after album, Skepta has gained a reputation for consistently putting the UK on the map in the world of Hip Hop. While other Hip Hop artists are following a seemingly formulaic pattern, Skepta takes the road less traveled and has pioneered a sound all his own. Likewise, San Francisco native FreeFall has proven yet again he can mold any song of his choosing into his unique style. Recently FreeFall remixed a song off of Skepta’s most recent album Konnichiwa. We are more than impressed with this interesting take on Skepta’s ‘That’s Not Me’. FreeFall infused this UK hip hop anthem with his more »

Fabrikate Takes On Contemporary Art In New Video

Fabrikate recently published a music video for one of their most recent singles, Atari, and we can’t get enough. The tantalizing take on post modern/contemporary art accompanies the throwback retro beats perfectly. This music video tells the story of an art exhibit janitor who deeply wishes to be a part of the art community. At the beginning of the video, a young artist unveils his abstract creation to the public, and the janitor seems to be more than interested with the piece. As the video progresses, the janitor still can’t get the unforgettable work of art out of his mind, so more »

Artist Spotlight: Freefall

Musicality is just as important as technicality when it comes to music production. You could have the greatest production technique, but if the idea isn’t strong enough it simply won’t work. That isn’t the case for San Francisco native Freefall. James Smith AKA ‘Freefall’ has developed a sound all his own and has begun consistently releasing on labels like Audiophile XXL. Freefall is known for his groovy house beats and earth shattering bass lines, but let’s not put him in a box. Instead, we thought it would be cool to get to know the artist behind the music and see what more »
