GTA talks Australian artists ahead of upcoming tour

The powerhouse party duo that is GTA are on their way back down under to bring the good times thanks to touring powerhouse BBE. To prepare for this, we were lucky enough to get the chance to have a chat with them about their career, production and their favourite Australian artists. [TSAU] Looking back on your career it seems like one of the real tipping points was the feature on Diplo’s Express Yourself EP way back in 2012, with Move Around. Then following up on this the next year with Boy Oh Boy. How did all of this fall together, and more »

PREMIERE: Leotrix x Jack Slade – Jers

Leotrix x Jack Slade - Jers

Leotrix and Jack Slade are two young guns out of Sydney and Adelaide respectively that are definitely starting to build a name for themselves. Leotrix, having just turned 18 is starting to take Sydney by storm, with booking after booking seemingly just flying in. Jack Slade, at just 17 has gained some prominence on SoundCloud over the last year, getting noticed by the likes of Enschway and LUUDE, and even getting some love from Alison Wonderland. This track, Jers, is something a little bit different from what we’re used to from both of the boys, initially channelling some housey vibes more »

Baytek drops feel good future bass anthem ‘Anchor’ ft Cyrus

Baytek

Baytek has become a name to watch in Australian bass music over the last few years. We first heard him way back in 2014 with Taking Over Me, which made quite a lot of traction copping remixes from Wongo, Francis Xavier, Lolo BX, Pantheon & Colour Castle. Since then, Baytek has continued to deliver, dropping remix after remix on his Soundcloud over the last few years, never straying too far from the hard hitting house vibes. The release of his RISE EP late last year garnered a solid amount of support, with the first track, Deadbeat, copping an exclusive premiere from the big guns at NEST HQ. For more »

What So Not Drops Divide And Conquer Remix Pack

You’d be hard-pressed to find a single person in the scene that doesn’t get excited about seeing the name What So Not on a release and Divide & Conquer was no different. Stepping a little into left field from what we’re used to from Chris “Emoh” Emerson (better known of course as What So Not), but this experimental sound was not in vain. The masses jumped on this track, stepping into something different and pushing something new and quite far removed from the days when What So Not was Flume and Emoh. Now I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t more »

TSAU006: TBA. & Willco – Threshold

Looking at the social media accounts of TBA. and Willco these two boys seem to have an awful lot in common, both seem to be shitposters at heart with Facebook pages similarly filled with a hefty collection of memes in amongst the music. TBA. (Adam, 24) and Willco (Brandon, 22) both call Perth home and have spent the last few years making big names for themselves in the local club scene, and are definitely starting to have their names recognised across the country and all over the world. Prior to getting into DJing and producing Adam (TBA.) had been involved in more »

CHOMPA – Droidz (TSAU005)

Another track fresh off the press here at Trapstyle Australia, and this one comes from 24-year-old Perth guru Richard Tielemans, better known as CHOMPA. Now this certainly isn’t Richard’s first rodeo. CHOMPA, formerly known as Skywalker Richard, has had a plethora of past releases, most notably of these being bass music heavyweight Firepower Records, which has amassed 112k plays to date. (Listen to CHOMPA’s Firepower release here) So, getting down to business. With a name like CHOMPA you can take a fair punt at what the sound will be before you listen to the music, but Droidz caught me off guard and really wasn’t the heavy sound I more »

Dirty Audio Australian Tour

Dirty Audio is no new name to the scene, having built up a big catalogue of tracks over the last 4 years with releases on Spinnin’ Records, Mad Decent, Monstercat and Panda Funk. Gettin’ That, his collaboration with RICKYXSAN really made an impact when it dropped early last year on Mad Decent, and since then he’s shown no sign of slowing down, pushing out a hard-hitting remix of DJ Snake and Yellow Claw’s anthem Ocho Cinco and the big future bass x trap fusion track with Max Styler that is Roller Coaster. The young gun out of LA is kicking more »
