Gentlemens Club – Goes Like [Bassrush Records]

As an old skool bass head I remember seeing Coffi play underground shows in Los Angeles as he rose out of the underground into the legendary group that is now known as Gentleman’s Club. If you’re not familiar, it is comprised of Coffi (Lewis Pittham), Soloman (Saul Mountford) and 50 Carrot (Armani Haskins). This dynamic trio individually pioneered a specific sound and single handedly laid down the foundation for many dubstep producers to come before becoming the Gentleman’s Club we know today. The trio was originally formed in 2013 and hail from the United Kingdom. Since then they have toured more »

2018’s EDC Las Vegas was a blast

I was fortunate enough to attend Day 3 of The Electric Daisy Carnival this year. Day three is rumored to be the best night under the electric sky for many reasons. A few being there’s less people, great vibes, parking is easier, and everyone is sad for the three days of utter bliss to come to an end. This was the first year that Insomniac decided to provide camping at the venue, the general consensus was that it was a hit. It provided a great deal of convenience and made for a better EDC experience by providing Ravers with an more »

Beyond Wonderland 2017 – A ten year retrospective

As I made my entrance into the enchanted wonderland I couldn’t help but realize that I’ve been doing this for exactly ten years. Although the inaugural Beyond Wonderland was held at NOS Events Center in San Bernardino, CA on March 20 2010, I have been following Insomniac’s Events since 2007. The precursor to Beyond Wonderland was “How Sweet It Is”, which used to take place at The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, CA. It’s honestly heartwarming to see an underground production company evolve into the beautiful paradise that it is today. While the sounds, people, and fashion have changed, the more »

Lightning in a Bottle 2016 – A Transformational Experience

As I approached the sacred Indian land in Bradley, California I couldn’t help but feel the radiant energy emanating from everyone I crossed paths with. I knew something special was about to ensue, within moments of walking up to the media entrance I was greeted by everyone around me. Ironically enough this took me by surprise. I had attended far too many “raves” in 2016, I had forgotten that people were actually nice to each other at these transformational gatherings. Needless to say the festival was pure vibes right off the bat. After acquiring my wristband and making my way more »

EDC 2016 Changed my life forever

Electric Daisy Carnival had a certain je ne sais quoi, I had been there before but this time was different. There was an unique air that everyone carried. Everywhere I looked there were new art installations, stages, and interactive characters that would be happy to tell you a story. The weather was perfect, and the music was utterly blissful. Upon entering the circuit grounds I encountered a massive pit of orbiters. These people swung around balls of light in perfect geometrical shapes. I had never seen this many light performers at EDC before, and Kaskade set the perfect vibe for people dancing more »

Convex ft Titus – Bad Kids [Discovery Project]

LA Based, rudebwoy Convex is here. Bad kids features the vocal stylings of Titus. This track starts off as a certified trapstyle tune, but makes a massive switch up halfway through. Bad Kids channels some of the old skool break beats vibes, that we all know love and miss. Looking forward to hear what else Convex has up his sleeves. Looks like there’s a new kid on the block, with some badman bass anthems in the works.

Once I bought a SubPac music was never the same again

Imagine being immersed in a world of sound. Your own personal party, anywhere you want, any time, at the click of a button. I was in the market for a new subwoofer but my only set back was the fact that I have roommates. Producing music late at night would wake them up, so I scoured the internet to find the perfect solution. After searching YouTube, Google, and Guitar Center I found my answer in the least likely of places. A friend of mine at Icon Collective told me about The SubPac. He described it as a backpack with a subwoofer. I more »

Nick Terranova & Rysto’s ADE Sampler via Brawla Records

Brawla Records has come out with a sick ADE sampler by House music producers Nick Terranova & Rysto. The first off the sampler has to be my favorite. It features the vocals styling of Liz B. This progressive house roller has that deep warehouse vibe we all know, love and miss. These guys sampled her voice and starts off with “I took a hit” for a cool minute, the midsection breaks down into a sexy ambient that leads up into a groovy drop that keeps the vibe rolling deeper and deeper. This release is for all stoners alike, and am now a more »

Trapstyle sits down w/ ETC! ETC! @ Insomniac’s Escape Psycho Circus

TS: Why did you choose Electronic Music? ETC! ETC!: It’s fun. I don’t know, it’s something I jumped into. I was in bands in junior high and high school, and after that I was still in bands. And ultimately the bands broke up, and I started to make music myself, and I think that was the only thing that I could make myself that seemed cool and cohesive, rather then trying to write a guitar rift, and then drums, and then bass, and sing. It didn’t work out. So I think making small records, dance stuff, seemed cool. Just because more »
