To Write Love On Her Arms a Non-Profit Saves Lives with Bassnectar’s Compassion

To Write Love On Her Arms

Something unexpected and wonderful happened this year at Electric Forest and not many people knew about it. Bassnectar volunteered at an amazing non-profit called To Write Love On Her Arms. They serve those who have mental health issues and suicide prevention. This year at Forest they placed several phones around the grounds where someone would sit at the switchboard and wait for a light to blink. That meant there was someone one the other line. Volunteers would talk to attendees and they would ask them questions about their life and if they wanted to reach out to someone close to more »

Girls on boys

Written by: Thomas Williams Well known producer duo Galantis, has teamed up with ROZES to release a new single titled “Girls on Boys.” Known for their singles like “Runaway (U & I)” and “No Money,” Galantis has recently been releasing songs from their upcoming album The Aviary, which was announced back in early July. In their new song, Galantis decided to change their usual music style from progressive house to what seems like a mixture between chill-out and tropical house. As the track begins, the song starts out rather slow, especially for their songwriting style. However, as the song moves more »

Feeling Nostalgic with Said The Sky [Interview]

Said The Sky

Two weeks ago I sat down with Trevor Christensen aka Said The Sky at 515 Alive Music Festival. I have been a huge fan of his ever since I discovered Illenium. They released a track “Drop Our Hearts Ft. SIRMA” in 2014 and it changed my perception about melodic dubstep. We had many chillstep and some future bass artists before these two released this song, however I think Trevor and Nick have paved a way for a new breed of melodic dubstep and future bass artists. After they released that song, Said The Sky came out with his first EP Faith. more »

Creating the Grand Design of “Where The Wild Things Are” by Illenium and Zeds Dead

And now for something completely different from Illenium and Zeds Dead, “Where the Wild Things Are” captures the turbulent nature of Zeds Dead right off the bat diving into the future sounds of Nick Miller (Illenium) creating one of the best collabs of the year. They have released it a bit early on Spotify as the song is actually being released today Monday July 24th wherever CDs aren’t sold. Introducing SoundCloud Pulse, an app for iOS and android contributors

SoundCloud Pulse

Last November SoundCloud dropped a new app called SoundCloud Pulse for Android only. Two days ago they just released the iOS version and it’s getting great reviews. However there are still some flaws. Robert Baker, a SoundCloud user and 1/2 of We’re Not Friends had this to say about the new iOS version. “The new app does exactly what it was created to do, notifications are instant, the interface is easy and it runs flawlessly.. but it still leaves users in the dark.
