[NEW] LNY TNZ – Bass (Luminox Remix) – FREE DOWNLOAD

Luminox continues to turn out the gem’s now and again, this remix being no exception.  LNY TNZ – “Bass” is a heavy synth driven HardStyle track sprinkled evenly with near perfect samplework, we highly recommend hearing it first. It almost seems symbiotic in nature that Luminox would select a track like this to remix but it also comes at a pleasant surprise. Luminox is no-doubt the godfather and quite possibly the originator of “TrapStyle” as a genre. He seems to be lately taking on a progressive element in his music to produce tracks that satisfy his own ear rather than the mainstream masses. more »

SoundCloud Is Going Through Changes; Partners With Zefr

A press release was issued on Business Wire yesterday confirming a new business partnership between SoundCloud and the digital rights management / media analysis company Zefr. Zefr has famously built its business around management of content on Youtube, scanning videos for copyright-protected material and then allowing its clients to claim revenue from said work– they are responsible for Youtube’s monetization model. Though the companies publicly claim the partnership is “to help the company and its music partners better understand the sharing of content on the platform,” it’s not unreasonable to speculate that SoundCloud may be looking to implement a monetization program similar to that of YouTube, more »

How Much Do EDM Artists Really Make?

And it’s better than it was five years ago. The amount that artists get paid from digital music and services like Spotify has been widely discussed for many years now. One of the most memorable instances was in 2010, when Information Is Beautiful (also responsible for a great book of infographics) published an infographic based on a post by The Cynical Musician that broke down just how many monthly streams a solo artist would need to make the US monthly minimum wage. The number – 4,053,110 – was depressing enough before taking into account how much music would have to be streamed for whole bands to make more »

AWE’s Hermitude Remix is ‘Through The Roof’

Although he’s been at it for over a year now, the career of Los Angeles’s own AWE seems to have just detonated after joining the OWSLA family and having them include his rework of Jack Ü’s “Take Ü There” on their Spring 2015 Compilation album.  AWE’s take on bass music is a refreshingly unique one.  It’s no wonder that Skrillex’s label scooped him up and that he has been premiered by Mixmag and the almighty Billboard. His latest remix of Hermitude’s “Through The Roof”, just as massive as the original, certainly doesn’t disappoint; AWE’s ability to use empty space and very percussive tribal sounds more »
