Ham On Everything presents Migos & OG Maco

Friday’s HAM ON EVERYTHING party was E P I C. I feel comfortable starting off my article with this statement because thats exactly what it was-something epic, maybe even something biblical. When you hear about a jaw dropping ‘Project X’ style party from a friend, you imagine an insane lineup, special guest appearances, endless drinks flowing, smoke clouds in the sky and maybe a fight or two (but well get to that later on) Ham on Everything parties have always been infamously known for featuring some of Trap, Twerk and Hip Hop’s most sought after Acts in the game, so its to no surprise more »

What If You Could Be Front Stage At A Festival And Charge Your Phone At The Same Time

So two of the biggest problems I have at festivals are finding cell phone service, and keeping my phone alive.  Thankfully there are people in this world that are working to create solutions for life’s shortcomings.  One such group of people are the developers over at Ampy, a small company that received its funding from donors on Kickstarter, who have developed a solution. The Ampy device uses kinetic energy from your movements, sort of like how you shake an emergency flashlight to create power, to charge its internal batteries. Then, using your USB charger from your iPhone, Android or wearable device, just more »

7 Reasons Why You Don’t Need To Prove Yourself To Everyone In The Music Industry

One of the biggest mistakes I’ve seen young producers, bloggers, etc. make, and made myself is trying to show the world we are flawless in hopes that we will be liked and accepted by everyone, but we can’t please everyone and we shouldn’t try.  The beauty of being an artist lies in our vulnerability, our complex emotions, and our authentic imperfections.  When we embrace who we are and decide to be authentic, instead of who we think others want us to be, we open ourselves up to real relationships, real happiness, and real success. There is no need to put more »

New Research Study Reveals The Science Behind “The Drop”

The Science Behind The EDM Drop Explained “The Drop” is that moment we all go mad for when it comes to EDM, usually it’s the point at which the volume gets highest and marks a distinct change from the rest of the song. But until now that change (and the love behind it) remained somewhat a game of guesswork. Researchers at the McMaster Institute for Music and the Mind investigated the relationship between our minds and low-frequency pitches and discovered that our soft spot comes from out of our natural love for rhythm, with bassier lower notes being easier to more »

Ultra Music Festival Co-Founder, Alex Omes, Has Reportedly Passed Away

Word spread on social media today that Ultra Music Festival cofounder and longtime Miami nightlife fixture Alex Omes has passed away at age 43. No cause of death has been reported yet. Omes’ greatest legacy was the creation of Ultra in 1999 with then-partner Russell Faibisch. The festival would go on to become one of the largest dance music events in North America. And it even eventually eclipsed Winter Music Conference, which had been the reason so many DJs and dance acts came to Miami in March in the first place. In 2010, Omes found himself pushed out of Ultra more »

Experts Warn Deadly rogue ‘Superman’ ecstasy pills laced with PMMA May Be Rebranded

Drug experts have issued a warning that the Superman-stamped ‘ecstasy’ pills that caused 4 recent deaths in the UK may have been rebranded and are possibly still in circulation. The lethal pills were found to contain ParaMethoxyMethylAmphetamine (PMMA) – a highly toxic chemical that has caused a sobering number of ‘ecstasy’-related deaths in the past couple of years. The batch is believed to have originated in the Netherlands. The effects of PMMA, although vaguely similar to MDMA, act slower, and thus make people more prone to overdose. PMMA also causes the body to dehydrate and overheat faster, which is exponentially more »

Insomniac’s Countdown NYE Trapstyle.com review

As we approached Insomniac‘s Countdown we could feel the big beautiful bass-lines permeate throughout the surrounding arena. Happy vibes were in the air with thousands of people dancing without a care.  This was the first time in over five years that I have attended an Insomniac Event for New Years, needless to say the vibe is still alive! Never before have I experienced such a rush of joy from seeing this many people packed together to enjoy the sounds of Bingo Players, Laid Back Luke, Porter Robinson, Showtek, Audien and I even met a die hard DJ Snake fan who had a vinyl record and was patiently waiting on more »

Our experience at Lights All Night + photos from the night!

Lights All Night was an experience that one could only fathom within a dream! LAN hands down was one of the best productions I attended in 2014. From the large crowds of smiling fans to the banging tunes, Lights All Night was most definitely a win! The energy within the Dallas convention center was beyond un-real. Throughout the weekend I don’t think there was a single sad person within that venue. With acts such as Zedd, Skrillex, Armin van buuren, Dj Snake, Paper Diamond and more all concert goers were in for a huge treat! Lights all night offered a more »
