William Crooks Drops Inspiring LP ‘if i don’t live forever’

Let’s get straight to the point: William Crooks‘ LP ‘if i don’t live forever’ is more than a song, more than beats, but a work of art. A compilation of 12 works, the album mixes in LoFi styles in such a way that it is distinctly still Hip-Hop while showing a clear consciousness of the current LoFi movement. There is no single mood of the album. It seems to tackle a very wide range of emotions, but carries a sense of nostalgia with it’s vinyl sound. And it makes sense that it has this air of nostalgia, as the project was more »

HEKLER Drops Massive Trap Banger ‘MEGALINK’

When it comes to HEKLER, the only thing you can know for sure that you’re gonna get is top level sound design, and all the bass you could ever ask for. We’ve reported on HEKLER twice before, both on his collaborative EP with WHIPPED CREAM and on his single with Lemay. Both were Trap and Bass inspired, and both had next level sound design. But the sound of each work is entirely different. And that is true of all of HEKLER’s works, where the most common theme is ironically how unique each track is in its own right. HEKLER continues this more »

Skrillex & Habstrakt Made The Best Bass House Song of 2017!

Over the years Skrillex has been one of the dominating and defining members of the Electronic music scene. ‘Chicken Soup’ is definitely no different from any of the quality songs he’s put out. Of course we cannot forget the work from Habstrakt on this collaboration, their styles both complement each other perfectly on this. The song starts with an intense variation of vocal chops and percussion. With a great rhythm supporting the overall tune, the build up leads to a wild display of their styles meshing. Kygo Impresses With New Ellie Goulding Collab

After successes with his debut album and more recently his collaboration with Selena Gomez, Kygo has released his next single “First Time” with Ellie Goulding.  This is the first time the EDM world has heard from Ellie Goulding in what feels like a long time.  Many people were surely looking forward to the track just for that reason, and the song itself certainly didn’t disappoint. “First Time” follows Kygo’s signature sound into a semi-experimental direction, with his pluck still clear but more of a leniency towards modern pop also noticeable.  This is more or less in line with “It Ain’t Me” more »

A Personal Article Reviewing My Past and Current Outlooks on The Electronic Music Industry

They’ve been crushing it every day since the moment they said “This is what I want to do for the rest of my life: write articles, produce music, sing on tracks, produce an album, manage this duo, tour the world, let my voice be heard” more »

Why You Should Start Working Now Instead of Waiting for 2017

Whenever I open my Facebook feed and start scrolling down during the holiday season, all I see are photos with Grandma and even more cringy: those posts from wantrepreneurs about them blowing up come 2017. This is one of the worst things you want to do for your brand or business, particularly in the music industry. I find that those who post these are looking for people to start noticing them by telling them they will be (i.e. “Stay woke fam 2017 about to be poppin’ #cringesquad) Show don’t tell. Instead of posting on your social medias about how 2017 is more »
