Party Favor Amplifies Trap Anthem

One of my favorite throwback tracks just got remixed and it’s sex to my ears. Your boy Party Favor just took Bro Safari’s “Scumbag” to a whole ‘nother level. When Party Favor remixes a well known tune, it normally goes off pretty well (Showtek’s Booyah?) so seeing the rising star remix Bro Safari’s arguably biggest tune lights quite the spark of excitement. The song is fresh and new right from the get go while still maintaining the feels from the original. It’s dark and orchestral yet wonky. The vocals (originally from the late Nortorious B.I.G.) remain true to their roots more »

Jantsen x Dirt Monkey x Notixx – MASSIVE

I don’t know what makes most people get up in the morning (maybe a job or school?), but for me, it’s bass music. Today definitely had a great start as I opened my email to a massive tune out on The Dub Rebellion. So what’s today’s treat? “MASSIVE”, a skanky banger of a tune from the minds of Jantsen, Notixx, and Dirt Monkey. Each of these producers have individually conquered different styles of music and that comes across in “MASSIVE”. The song’s intro reads like an older Doctor P or Flux Pavilion tune with some echoing chants, naughty bells and more »

Halloween is a time that my soul feels at ease. Whether it’s because I can where black every day without being judged or the fact that I can listen to spooky bass tunes I’m not sure. With All Hallow’s Eve being today and WRECKVGE being the fiends that they are, we wanted to share a special mix of ghouls and ghosts with our audience. WRECKVGE is the in-your-face trap duo with no bounds and they’ve brought a mixtape of horrifying destruction to our ears. Their Halloween Mixtape #2 has a variety of dark and grimey tunes to sate your thirst more »

One On One With Lil Texas: The Skater Kid Who Overcame Addiction

Falling into a dark hole of addiction through his journey that transcended his once all too real reality into a downward spiral of depression and lost connections, he persevered and overcame it all. “I just really fucking love music” says Lil Texas as we sit on a leather couch in what was a one of a kind dingy dive bar part venue with an old school feel and a huge stage adjacent to us. He rocks his all black band tee with the notorious illegible but deathly metal band font along with black skinny jeans just like an authentic emo/punk kid would. He nears more »

Kompany & Blvk Sheep – Hold Up

Earlier this week, Kompany and Blvk Sheep unleashed a huge hybrid record that has racked up nearly 40 thousand plays within its’ first week. ‘Hold Up’ features face melting, glitchy synths that when accompanied by the drum work deliver a groove you can’t help but move to. The first drop has both a bass house style rhythm/structure to it, but then switches to a trap arrangement to keep the listener interested. Both artists are clearly present in this collaborative effort, and they were able to create a cohesive original that is bound to destroy any dance floor. Both Kompany and more »

Hairitage – Overthrown [Free Download]

Nothing beats fresh tunes and a promising artist when you love music. The third release on TrapStyle Records, entitled “They’re Overthrown”, is a far out and funky dubstep track from young gun Hairitage. The up and coming, genreless producer has had releases on Ultra Records, Cr2 Records and others so we had to snag “They’re Overthrown”. The track begins with an old school film projector sample and a vocal from what seems like a 1950’s infomercial. We’re enticed with a smooth organ melody and some reggae style guitar plucks to tease our ear drums. The beat is fun and full more »

SRNO - Stay Sane

SRNO – Stay Sane ft. Naaz [Majestic Casual]

Sometimes my inbox is blessed with music that strays from the typical electronic bangers and I couldn’t be more excited to bring you exactly that. Today’s run is featuring a smooth serenate by the name of “Stay Sane” from UK based producer SRNO with the serene touch of vocalist Naaz whom you might remember from Yellowclaw’s “Catch Me”. Stay Sane reminds me of an authentic R&B ballad that exudes a calm yet feels inducing demeanor. It’s a smooth concoction of modern day beats meeting an old school vibe that proves a beautiful progression in electronic music is here to stay. I tip my hat you more »

AMERIA – Indestructible [Free Download}

It’s 2016 and the females are killing the game. From Mija to Alison Wonderland to Ducky, gender means nothing in music and Ameria is soon to join in ranks. Her vocal trap anthem “Indestructible” is a blissful montage of sound and bass. The tune starts with a rush of emotion as arpeggiated vocal chops and a piano melody intrigue us. A simple bassline and beating drum pattern supporting Ameria’s raw vocals push the tune along. We follow her down the rabbit hole to the drop where we’re met with an interesting collision of sound and a pop-rock-like drum beat. Between more »
