Joyryde – Hot Drum [FREE DOWNLOAD]

Joyryde has been a driving force in the bass house scene since his emergence a year ago. Keeping a theme of piston-pumping beats and fuel injected basslines, Joyryde isn’t showing any sign of hitting those brakes on his production any time soon. His newest release “Hot Drum” takes us along the freeway of funk to start off with some really wonky effects and detuned vocals echoing around us. The ride stops for a second to gear up for the gas-pedalling drop and brings a stretched out call of “If you’re ready, make some noise!” right before the bass come at more »

Artist Spotlight: Felmax

Over the years dance music fans have come to the realization that “trap” music, or the electronic manifestation of trap, has developed an unparalleled energy quite unlike any other genre. Devastating 808’s accompanied by huge synths has become the staple for bass music fans in America. With so many people attempting to create trap anthems of their own, it’s become rather difficult to stand out amongst the noise. Most producers fade into the background when they fail to develop a voice of their own, but that isn’t the case for Florida native Felmax. Over the past year, Felmax has grown his more »

Skepta – That’s Not Me (FreeFall Remix)

Album after album, Skepta has gained a reputation for consistently putting the UK on the map in the world of Hip Hop. While other Hip Hop artists are following a seemingly formulaic pattern, Skepta takes the road less traveled and has pioneered a sound all his own. Likewise, San Francisco native FreeFall has proven yet again he can mold any song of his choosing into his unique style. Recently FreeFall remixed a song off of Skepta’s most recent album Konnichiwa. We are more than impressed with this interesting take on Skepta’s ‘That’s Not Me’. FreeFall infused this UK hip hop anthem with his more »

Take/Five puts us all in a trance with his new single ‘Tell Me’. Giving us a smooth and upbeat tone, the tune seems to resonate with you as it is easy to make a connection with it. Bonnie X Clyde have bursted into the scene with reason. The miami based duo has been creating heaps of noise and conversation this year. Showing off to the public the potential these two hold, the sky is their ceiling. Their newest single “Tonight” comes just in time for their debut Insomniac performance at Nocturnal Wonderland this Labor Day Weekend. “Tonight” possesses a dark and upbeat tone. The low octave and punchy plucks set the stage for Bonnie’s vocals to bounce off the other elements like a springboard. The tune is very mesmerizing due to it’s very chilling atmosphere. Rawtek – RIXA! [Premiere]

The boys are back at it again! Rawtek has been climbing the steps of the music scene, garnering support from some big names on their take on salsa infused house breaks they’ve dubbed Lionsound. Releasing their newest tune on the Mad Decent sublabel Good Enuff, Levi and Daniel aka Rawtek have successfully clinched my interest with their original “RIXA!”. Despite Rawtek’s quiet personal nature, their music is loud, proud and in your face. Boasting tribal style vocals being shouted in a foreign language (Spanish?) and a beat that gives your hips the urge to shake like Shakira, “RIXA!” is a more »

The trap gods have shined their light on bass heads across the world as UZ & MYRNE cook us up one heavy remix to UZ’s own ‘Trap Shit 16’. Aligning the original vocals, the producers decide to cut up the beat and mantain that original and fresh UZ sound. Presenting us a fat 808, nothing else is needed to satisfy our bass cravings. MYRNE certainly spent no time in showing us what he brought to the project. Gifting us the smoothest of futuristic saw waves, our minds are taken into another dimension with the 2nd and 3rd drops. Today is the day that things are taking a twist as I bring you some real House music by Upcomer Thomas Garcia.  “Mad Descent” featuring Kafkr is his latest creation which was released on House of Hustle just last week. The godfather of HARD events, Destructo, is back with his signature G-House sound in collaboration with Australia’s very own Wax Motif featuring Pusha T & Starrah. “Catching Plays” is riding the huge wave of momentum that arose after his latest work “4Real” featuring Ty Dolla $ign and iLoveMakonnen which also embodies the G-House aesthetic. This Hip-Hop and House hybrid sound that Destructo is pushing is refreshingly innovative as it fuses two completely different worlds and Catching Plays is a solid representation of that. Christian Colon aka EXSSV is the realest bass star coming out of New York. From his debut banger “Starstruck” to today’s premiere remix, the level of hype around EXSSV is not nearly enough. Remixing AutoErotique’s bass house tune “Streets”, which is almost reminiscent of old school fidget house, into the growling dubstep banger we have below gives us a taste of his darker side. With almost trance-like synths and jungle-style vocals, EXSSV grabs your attention almost immediately from the get-go. Wait for it and with the almighty drop he wreaks havoc with monsterous synths and infectious percussion hits. Keeping the more »
