CONTRA – Latest single “Oneistoomany” & “Divi Filius”

ShadowTrix Music is a homebase-lease-place expanding label, whom are on the rise and dishing out some of the finest 808hop/glitch/(anything)-step/ bass music that the web has to offer. In this avenue of psychedelic- intelligent dance and experimental music ShadowTrix takes a chair among sonic comrades and fellow labels like Gravitas and Street Ritual Records. All three labels are among, I would say, the top “go-to” hubs for underground electronic bass music. These entities share and feature an array of different emerging artists; take Astro Raph for example, or an artists such as Soulular whose music trumps in the test of time. Specifically distributed via ShadowTrix some of the best renders are output here by Soulular, Pilzbeats, more »

If you have dabbled in the realm of electronic bass music in the last year, you may have heard of a young, Subway-eating producer named Ray Volpe. If not, let’s introduce you to his music with his latest dubstep anthem “Bermuda”. The last time we visited Ray he had just put out his Bipolar EP which earned him the attention of top-level players in the scene such as party-boy Getter (whom Ray played a few shows with last year). Following that success, “Bermuda” was just released as a free download on Ray’s SoundCloud (yes go cop that shit). The song more »

Balistex & Yeurotoxin – Skaarl [PRIME]

If anyone knows me, they know that I live for dubstep. Something about a simple kick/snare combo and crazy bass speaks to my soul so I’m stoked on the track we snagged from Balistex and Yeurotoxin for TrapStyle Prime. The track in question “Skaarl” is a gremlin of a dubstep tune. With a pull of inspiration from the ever popular League of Legends game, the song begins with a melodic intro and samples from the game characters. The playful samples bring us up to the drop after a short buildup and we are met with a curious collection of interesting more »

With the intent to share new music from producers who may not have “the plug”, we bring a brand-spanking-new tune from whatever genre we want every 24 hours. Snafu and Astriptus got the ins for the first release of 2017 with their new tune “Down” featuring Messinian. Snafu is a familiar name to me as well as Messinian considering all his work with Excision but I had to dig to find 16-year-old-from-India Astriptus who makes an assortment more »

With huge releases in the past on labels such as Play Me and Heavy Artillery, we expect nothing short of a barrage of sound on this EP. One of the biggest leaps made in the bass music world this year came from a Subway-sandwich-loving 19 year old. Ray Volpe is the killer you need to watch out for because this kid has got the sauce. Being a follower of his music for my own personal taste, I was plenty excited to see the release of his highly talked about track “Overflow”. Jantsen x Dirt Monkey x Notixx – MASSIVE

I don’t know what makes most people get up in the morning (maybe a job or school?), but for me, it’s bass music. Today definitely had a great start as I opened my email to a massive tune out on The Dub Rebellion. So what’s today’s treat? “MASSIVE”, a skanky banger of a tune from the minds of Jantsen, Notixx, and Dirt Monkey. Each of these producers have individually conquered different styles of music and that comes across in “MASSIVE”. The song’s intro reads like an older Doctor P or Flux Pavilion tune with some echoing chants, naughty bells and more »

WRECKVGE Halloween Mixtape #2 [Premiere]

Halloween is a time that my soul feels at ease. Whether it’s because I can where black every day without being judged or the fact that I can listen to spooky bass tunes I’m not sure. With All Hallow’s Eve being today and WRECKVGE being the fiends that they are, we wanted to share a special mix of ghouls and ghosts with our audience. WRECKVGE is the in-your-face trap duo with no bounds and they’ve brought a mixtape of horrifying destruction to our ears. Their Halloween Mixtape #2 has a variety of dark and grimey tunes to sate your thirst more »

Hairitage – Overthrown [Free Download]

Nothing beats fresh tunes and a promising artist when you love music. The third release on TrapStyle Records, entitled “They’re Overthrown”, is a far out and funky dubstep track from young gun Hairitage. The up and coming, genreless producer has had releases on Ultra Records, Cr2 Records and others so we had to snag “They’re Overthrown”. The track begins with an old school film projector sample and a vocal from what seems like a 1950’s infomercial. We’re enticed with a smooth organ melody and some reggae style guitar plucks to tease our ear drums. The beat is fun and full more »

SoDown – Never Ending Story ft. Jubee

I’m down for all kinds of music, but I’m so down for SoDown’s newest single with Jubee. “Never Ending Story” is the most recent, pristine work of audio art from Ehren River Wright aka SoDown. The Colorado bass musician has been rising through the scene with this unique brand of far out and pure music. With a strong focus on using organic instruments in his tracks, SoDown creates insanely funky tunes. Topping the cake with Jubee’s smooth vocals on his new track, SoDown was able to give a push to his sound design further and strectch limits in new areas. more »
