Under The Midwest Sky 515 Alive Music Festival Crushes Again!

515 Alive

This past weekend we headed to 515 Alive Music Festival to cover one of the best festivals in the Midwest. Last year they hosted the event in downtown Des Moines at Gateway Park. It was a great festival for being in a smaller city. However, this year they hosted the festival at Water Works Park just south of the city. This site which is much bigger than the previous park, housed camping for patrons 21+ and four stages. This year they had Excision, and GRiZ headlining with other giant national acts such as Gucci Mane, Hopsin, Tech N9ne, Mija, Pouya, more »

Creating the Grand Design of “Where The Wild Things Are” by Illenium and Zeds Dead

And now for something completely different from Illenium and Zeds Dead, “Where the Wild Things Are” captures the turbulent nature of Zeds Dead right off the bat diving into the future sounds of Nick Miller (Illenium) creating one of the best collabs of the year. They have released it a bit early on Spotify as the song is actually being released today Monday July 24th wherever CDs aren’t sold. Normally, I would be reviewing this track’s killer growls and melodic synths, but I know you just read past this and just press play. Everyone will be playing this song deep more »

Moonrise Lineup Makes It One Not To Miss

With the release of the phase 1 roster, things  were already looking prime for this year’s outing in Baltimore. This being Moonrise’s third return after the success they saw the last few years.  The people behind this festival definitely have some masterminds handling the bookings and making the decisions on who to lock in. This is evident with the events that Steez Promo throws regularly in the DMV area along with Pittsburgh and Philadelphia. Excision, Keys N Krates Threw Fire at Audio On The Bay ’16

audio on the bay

Seriously, Excision threw so much fire the fire alarm actually went off during his set. Memorial Day Weekend went off with a bang at Audio on the Bay. This year, the stage production was bigger, the bass was louder and the vibes were better than ever before. This years lineup hosted every type of bass music you could have wanted and much, much more. While still remaining one of Insomniac’s smaller festivals, it lives up to the hype of any other massive. I have to say, the stand out stars of the show for me were Keys N Krates. There’s something about combining live more »

Audio On The Bay Brings the Bass

audio on the bay 2015

Audio on the Bay, Insomniac’s annual Bay Area bass festival will be making its way back to Craneway Pavillion this Memorial Day weekend. As a veteran attendee of this festival I’ve come to expect a few things from this event: Top notch bass music, stage production, and some of the bay’s most lit food trucks. Previous years have seen artists like Martin Garrix, Audien and Laidback Luke, but this time around Insomniac is going for and entirely bass and dubstep filled lineup, with acts like Excision, Flux Pavilion, Keys N Krates, Slander, and up-and-coming Ephwurd (Datsik and Bais Haus). The venue itself more »

Fire Lineup Hitting Audio on the Bay Memorial Day Weekend

audio on the bay 2016

Audio on the Bay is bringing out another fire lineup for this year’s run at the Craneway Pavilion. Despite only 2 days of music compared to previous years’ 3 day Memorial Day weekend runs, Insomniac absolutely did not skimp on the quality of artists. This year’s lineup is busting out bass like no other. I haven’t caught a Flux Pavilion set in a long while so I’m praying they throw down a mix of dubstep classics and new material. I’m also stoked to see Ephwurd continue to rise. They took me by surprise at Escape last year, but it didn’t more »
