Holly & SENOJNAYR’s new collaboration ‘OBSOLETE’ is a wild ride now accepting passengers

Holly is well known in the scene as a mean beat-producing machine that never sleeps. Known for consistently pushing new music and ideas, as well as collaborating with literally every other interesting producer hiding amongst the Soundclouds, Holly returns once again with a new collaboration featuring underground gem, SENOJNAYR, premiering through Run The Trap.

Combining the roughness and grit of Holly with the smooth, funky style of SENOJNAYR, the two have created the track ‘OBSOLETE’.

Featuring frantic percussive elements, alienating synth stabs and a breakneck bassline; OBSOLETE’s aggressive rhythm bewilders its listeners until the only feasible course of action becomes nodding along to the crunchy drums and bouncing in unison with the beat.

The track utilises a ridiculous number of textural samples, including the smashing of glass, popping of cans, crunching of chips and what some Soundcloud users claim to be a ‘car crash in reverse’.
Amongst the various layers of sweeping builds and bassy growls, there is a brief moment solace to be found during a breakdown near the outro of the song where a soft, soothing synth coos in the background as the track builds into its final powerful drop.

It’s these tiny moments that all build and mesh together to create the final piece that make OBSOLETE such a wild mess of a ride, and one I’d gladly ask Holly & his friends to take me on again.
