Marco B Presents His Rendition of “Oasis” by Adara

I will admit that I was a bit skeptical before I listened to Marco B’s remix. I had never heard of Adara number one, and number two I had not ever heard anything by Marco B before. But, I am someone who likes to be on the hunt for good music. And I have been hiding under a rock lately. I must say I was pleasantly surprised and my doubts were banished after listening. And now it’s a track I have listened to multiple times. This was a valuable lesson to always have an open heart to new musical territory. more »

Loudpack – ÈL J (TSAU002)

According to the Bible, in the beginning God said “Let there be light” and there was light. According to Trap, in the beginning Boi-1da and Lex Luger said “Let there be clap and snare” and there was buildups. “Loudpack” by ÈL J may not break the traditional buildup mould here or rewrite the Trap Bible, but what it does offer is a taste of Dembow, two behemoth drops and a big horn not dissimilar from a super-sized cruise ship hauling 5000 daiquiri drinking coconut oiled grandparents. Now that we’ve left port, let’s take a look at the first drop. Reminiscent of Flosstradamus more »

A Personal Article Reviewing My Past and Current Outlooks on The Electronic Music Industry

Introduction  I am not an electronic music expert, nor will I ever claim to be one. I have come across many, many other individuals since being involved in this scene who know much more than I do. A lot of them didn’t have to take over a year off to get their lives together either. They’ve been crushing it every day since the moment they said “This is what I want to do for the rest of my life: write articles, produce music, sing on tracks, produce an album, manage this duo, tour the world, let my voice be heard” more »

The Top 5 Reasons I Always End Up At CRSSD Time After Time

CRSSD

Twice a year for the past two years I have sworn that I was going to finally retire from CRSSD and every year for the past two years I have attended both versions ( Spring & Fall) and had a goddamn blast. This year was no different and was punctuated by what I swear was a transcendent experience during Justin Martin’s set on Saturday. Sunday was the best warehouse party I’ve ever experienced while not actually being in a warehouse but never more than during the epic b2b by Seth Troxler and Eats Everything. An hour or two’s worth of more »

Matias – Bubble Gum

¿Qué opinas de more »

Dirty Audio Australian Tour

Dirty Audio is no new name to the scene, having built up a big catalogue of tracks over the last 4 years with releases on Spinnin’ Records, Mad Decent, Monstercat and Panda Funk. Gettin’ That, his collaboration with RICKYXSAN really made an impact when it dropped early last year on Mad Decent, and since then he’s shown no sign of slowing down, pushing out a hard-hitting remix of DJ Snake and Yellow Claw’s anthem Ocho Cinco and the big future bass x trap fusion track with Max Styler that is Roller Coaster. The young gun out of LA is kicking more »

Pang Productions is just one of a decent number of home grown Australian hip-hop labels putting out world class music worthy of international attention. They have released an array of projects from artists including Mata & Must, Dyl Thomas (Urban Monk/Milwaukee Banks), 1/6, 4 Aces, Retainer, J. Waters, Joe Snow (Defenders of Style) and todays subject; Adam Koots. Joey BADA$$ and Oddisee: No Alternative Facts.

I listen to a lot of podcasts, in particular American comedy podcasts. A popular sentiment in light of the current political climate is that questionable times call for exceptional art. An expensive price to pay. Less than one week into the Trump presidential era, it seems that although we may be facing a turbulent time, the exceptional art is already coming dense and swift. Leading the pack is Joey BADA$$ with “Land of the Free” and Oddisee with “Like Really”. Both politically charged, they provide a somber, informative and most importantly (but not at all surprising) banging point of view. more »
