At Point Blank, one of the many things they specialize in is teaching budding artists how to produce, mix, master and release tracks just like this one. “SOS” is the latest tutorial from the accomplished institution. In the video, Ski lays down the foundations of the track by programming a number of different beat patterns and effects into Ableton Live 10 using his Ableton Push 2. Umru and Ravenna Golden Team Up to Release Chilling Pop Banger “Sticky”

After a whirlwind of remixes and co-production work alongside A.G. Cook for Charli XCX’s Pop 2 Mixtape, 19-year old, New York-based producer umru returns to the fold with LA songstress, Ravenna Golden, to release “sticky.” Originally planned as a remix of Ravenna’s Machete, the pair turned their heads towards creating something new and fresh for audiences to hear. At center stage are Ravenna’s airy, autotuned vocals that contrast with umru’s mammoth percussion. Detailed with otherworldly, futuristic sound design, umru alchemizes squeaky textures, hyperreal soundscapes, and SOPHIE-inspired percussion into a refreshing take on pop that remains explosive and electric at its center. After completing serveral successful remixes for one another such as Fly Away and my personal favorite By Your Side, the artists known as Ray Volpe and Krys Talk are finally teaming up. This time they are back with a collaborative project under the title ‘Spirit Squad‘. The song starts off like the beginning of an action movie with its adrenaline-pumping synth that reminds you of the opening scene to The Dark Knight. As the energy begins to build up, out of no where a school bell rings surprising you. This is the signal from Ray and Krys that they’re about to shake more »

Creating the Grand Design of “Where The Wild Things Are” by Illenium and Zeds Dead

And now for something completely different from Illenium and Zeds Dead, “Where the Wild Things Are” captures the turbulent nature of Zeds Dead right off the bat diving into the future sounds of Nick Miller (Illenium) creating one of the best collabs of the year. They have released it a bit early on Spotify as the song is actually being released today Monday July 24th wherever CDs aren’t sold. Normally, I would be reviewing this track’s killer growls and melodic synths, but I know you just read past this and just press play. Everyone will be playing this song deep more »
