Leotrix and Jack Slade are two young guns out of Sydney and Adelaide respectively that are definitely starting to build a name for themselves. Leotrix, having just turned 18 is starting to take Sydney by storm, with booking after booking seemingly just flying in. Baytek has become a name to watch in Australian bass music over the last few years. We first heard him way back in 2014 with Taking Over Me, which made quite a lot of traction copping remixes from Wongo, Francis Xavier, Lolo BX, Pantheon & Colour Castle. Since then, Baytek has continued to deliver, dropping remix after remix on his Soundcloud over the last few years, never straying too far from the hard hitting house vibes. Australian producer Okami, known for his uplifting synth melodies and upbeat tunes has come together with another happy-go-lucky beat in the form of ‘Toy Factory’ Toy Factory features all the delicious synth love and cute percussive hits that you’ve come to adore from Okami with an interesting breakdown switch up. With a tropical feeling beat accompanied by some light keys, this track feels straight out of a Super Mario level. I absolutely adore the synth chords, and the overall happy and fun vibe of the beat. The Melbourne Trap Pack, home to all things bass in Melbourne, has come out with the second instalment of their compilation album. Featuring many homegrown producers & members of the ever-growing Pack, the Melbourne Trap Pack Compilation 2 is filled to the brim with face-melting bass hits, punchy kick drums and snapping snares. You’d be hard-pressed to find a single person in the scene that doesn’t get excited about seeing the name What So Not on a release and Divide & Conquer was no different. Stepping a little into left field from what we’re used to from Chris “Emoh” Emerson (better known of course as What So Not), but this experimental sound was not in vain. Melbourne’s Big Boss most definitely has his own unique style when it comes to his production; mixing in tons of different sounds with each and every one of his tracks.  His soundcloud is full of one heavy banger after another. Australian producer, Okami, is a name everyone needs to know.  His “video game music” is heavily influenced by his love for the games he plays, especially Super Mario World; hence his latest album “Super Okami World.” He has definitely created his own, unique sound in all of his music – a lot of his music reminds me of what Porter Robinson would not only listen to, but produce himself.  Especially his latest remix to Dimatik’s “Into The Sea” feat the ever effervescent Enya Angel. If you thought Louis Futon was done fucking the game up after his delicious remix of Kendrick Lamar’s “PRIDE”, then you were wrong by a long shot. Returning to Facebook, Futon asked his fans which song to sample for his next beat challenge before settling on Frank Ocean’s “Solo” off of Ocean’s most recent LP ‘Blonde’. Tackling “Solo” would be quite an arduous task for an unprepared musician. Between the heavily moody feel of the track driven by the detuned organ piano, and Frank’s super loose, almost freeform delivery of the lyrics; any hopeful remixers would have their work cut out more »

Another track fresh off the press here at Trapstyle Australia, and this one comes from 24-year-old Perth guru Richard Tielemans, better known as CHOMPA. Now this certainly isn’t Richard’s first rodeo. CHOMPA, formerly known as Skywalker Richard, has had a plethora of past releases, most notably of these being bass music heavyweight Firepower Records, which has amassed 112k plays to date.
